The Basics of Poker

Poker is a card game where players compete against each other by betting with chips. The game requires a large round table and chairs for each player. Most games are limited to eight or nine players. While playing poker, you need to read your opponents, predict the odds, and maintain a cool demeanor when bluffing. The object of the game is to win your opponent’s chips and become the winner.

Initiation of a hand

In poker, the initial action that is taken after a hand is dealt is known as the “Initiation of a hand.” If the hand is not won, it must be killed by the dealer before the pot is awarded to the winning hand.
